Years ago, I launched ExJewel, a venture that emerged from my deep ties to the luxury industry. Having navigated the high fashion scenes of Dubai, contributed to ST Dupont in Paris, and closed my father's family business, I envisioned ExJewel as the bridge between my passion for luxury and the burgeoning potential of technology.

The concept was straightforward but groundbreaking: 92% of all jewelry sits unused, whether in business inventories or customers' private collections. To address this inefficiency, I developed the first and most extensive database for jewelry, diamonds, and colored stones, coupled with a custom AI appraisal tool. This tool standardized inventory assessment, enabling businesses and individuals to upcycle their assets while minimizing the need for new extraction of precious metals and gemstones.

ExJewel evolved into a B2B2C marketplace, promoting sustainability in the luxury ecosystem. Unfortunately, like many visionary projects, ExJewel faced setbacks during the Covid pandemic. The pause wasn't the only hurdle—the ExJewel algorithm and database were sold to Christie's. They repurposed it to create an estimation tool for luxury items, tailored specifically to the second-hand market.

Fast forward to earlier this year: with the rise of ChatGPT, a GPT model revived ExJewel's core estimation tool, marking its rebirth in the AI-driven era.

Today, thanks to platforms like Lovable.dev, which empower makers to develop full-stack applications with AI, I've re-implemented ExJewel AI as a comprehensive solution for both B2B and B2C audiences. The tool now enables anyone to estimate the value of branded and unbranded jewelry, diamonds, and colored stones with ease.

This revival is more than a passion project—it's part of a bigger journey. I'm currently creating one startup idea every day throughout 2024, with the goal of producing 366 viable ideas and selecting 6 to pursue. Follow this journey here: My 2024 Startup Challenge.
